Yew Aegishjalmar

This wonderful,
naturally-shaped pendant is
crafted from warm-coloured Yew wood which grew atop a
Bronze age roundbarrow. It is carved with an
Aegishjalmar symbol which is an ancient Norse form
composed from small runes. It is used for protection and
the meaning of the word is “helm of awe”.
The first part of the
name, Aegis, is the name of the God of the violent seas.
It was believed that aegishjalmar could take negative
energy and direct it back 24 fold to its sender. It was
sometimes drawn on the inside of a helmet.
The pendant is pictured on
a hemp thong but will be supplied with a black leather or cord thong.
