Ancient Oak Thorn Box (TH116)

This beautifully tactile box is lovingly handcrafted from windfallen ancient oak from a beautiful holloway. The piece contains a wonderful range of textures and markings within the gnarled wood, giving the box an organic and grounded feel.

The lid is newly carved from dark bog oak from the Celtic tribal lands of Britain once walked by the Iceni queen, Boudica. It's around 2,300 years old, dating back to the time of the Iron Age. The lid rests gently in place with a slight friction hold, rather than a tight seal.

The box is finished with an acorn and a Hampshire hazelnut.

This reusable and versatile box is perfect for storing blackthorns, hawthorns, dried herbs, or other small spellwork essentials.

If you'd like, some thorns or dried mugwort can be included with your box and/or a bindrune for protection, love, or ancestral connection can be added to the base for no extra charge.
