Holloway Yew Kindred Spirit (KS169)
This Kindred Spirit figure has been newly carved from the root of a windfallen yew. The tree grew within a beautiful holloway - a lane walked by people dating back into the mists of time (read more here). The piece contains a wonderful range of tones and markings within the wood. It feels incredibly tactile, so feels good to gently hold during meditation or for ritual use.
Wrappings of silk and wych elm bark, and a Hampshire hazelnut have been added. The hazelnut has a spiral added - an ancient symbol of life and lifeforce.
The figure is filled with our protective herb blend which includes herbs respectfully gathered from the land surrounding the sacred site of Stonehenge. The herbs are sealed inside with a plug of Winter Solstice-gathered blackthorn.
On the front of the figure, a deeply carved Algiz rune - a symbol of protection - is designed to be traced with your fingertips, enhancing your connection to its energy. The back of figure has Saxon runes saying "Tō beorgan", meaning to protect. The base has a bindrune for protection.
