Wych Elm Protective Wolf Pendant (PE1949)
This piece is newly carved into a Celtic stylised wolf spirit pendant from wych elm wood which is comfortingly warm and tactile, inviting you to hold and touch it.
Wych elm was said to be a favourite meeting tree for witches. It is considered to be a tree of inspiration and a favourite of the woodland spirits. It carries a feeling of warmth and positive energies, making it a meaningful piece to wear close to your heart.
The wolf has long been a creature of awe and mystery. In Celtic tradition, the moon and fertility goddess Ceridwen was linked to wolves, and many old tales speak of wolves as both close companions to humans and symbols of nurture. At the same time, their untamed power and ferocity are well known, reminding us of their strength. The wolf is deeply connected to the moon and wisdom, and in Celtic lore, it also holds ties to the season of winter, watching over the land from Samhain to Imbolc.
The pendant is filled with our protective herb blend which includes herbs respectfully gathered from the land surrounding the sacred site of Stonehenge. The herbs are sealed inside with a plug of blackthorn.
A bindrune for protection has been added to the back.
Supplied with a generously long cotton cord, the pendant offers a simple tie closure and adjustable length to suit your preference.
Pendant size: 7.25 cm/ 2.75 inches long (approx.)
This pendant is larger and may be more suited to ritual wear than for every day, though it's up to personal preference of course. For the best idea of scale please see the last photo. This shows the pendant on a woman's average-sized hand.
