Spirit of Old are pleased to offer a range of items which are hand-crafted from wood gathered in
Cornwall, properly known as Kernow. The
wood has been respectfully gathered from ancient sacred sites and
brings to us the beautiful, wild energies of the untamed
moorland and sea-beaten cliffs.
Merry Maidens Stone Circle
(pictured)
The Merry Maidens circle, which is thought to be complete,
comprises nineteen granite megaliths. The stones are regularly
spaced around the circle, with an entrance at its exact most
easterly point. This almost perfect circle has a wonderful
feeling of peace and calmness. Mên-An-Tol
The Mên-an-Tol is a small formation of standing stones
consisting of three upright granite stones: a wide stone with
its middle holed out with two cuboid stones to each side, in
front of and behind the hole. The stones are surrounded by
legend, particularly stories of healing and fertility. It is a
beautifully windswept place with gorse, hawthorn and foxgloves
growing in abundance.
